Description: Engaging young people as leaders and resources on their school campuses can greatly improve our existing prevention and youth development programs. Do you know what ingredients are needed in order to start and maintain quality, successful peer-led programs? Do you know what core communication skills all peer helpers need? This one-day training will provide the opportunity for us to explore the nuts and bolts of quality peer programs and review the communication skills all peer helpers need. We will look at recruitment, selection, training, gaining additional support, and explore all of the exciting leadership roles that peer educators/helpers can play!
Facilitators: Ira Sachnoff, Consultant, Peer Resource Training & Consulting & Derrick Kirk, TUPE Youth Development Specialist
